Task 3: An Inconvenient Truth

This film is presented by Al Gore who challenged George W. Bush to be president of the USA but didn’t win. Former vice president Al Gore tells his opinion about global warming hoping that all people understand the problem and do something before it is too late. What made Al Gore change his way of looking to the world was the death of his older sister who passed away from lung cancer, and his son's car accident. Gore explains the impacts of global warming and the most dangerous is ice melting. If the ice in Antarctica and Greenland melts the result will be a rise in the world’s sea level by about 20 feet. 100 million people or more will be homeless if the sea level rose. Approximately 40 % of the people get their drinking water from rivers caused by melting ice and after about 50 years these people will have a big problem because of the drought and water evaporation. The cause of the ice melting is the increase of temperature caused from the increased level of CO2 level; if the CO2 level goes up the temperature goes up and the CO2 level nowadays is more than average and after half a century it will be way more. Finally Gore asked all people to work together and solve the problem before it gets bigger and bigger.
